Who we are

JB Storage Solutions provides self storage at our site in Brighouse, West Yorkshire (Batley and Liversedge are served by our sister company, MB Storage). For anything relating to your personal information you can reach us by phone on 07795 477231 or by email at info@jbstoragesolutions.co.uk. We are the "data controller" for the information described in this policy.

What we collect

We only collect the information you choose to give us through our forms. We do not use analytics, advertising trackers or profiling of any kind.

• When you request a quote: your name, email address, phone number, your preferred move-in date, and any details you add about what you plan to store.
• When you send us a message: your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message.

Please don't include special-category information (such as health details) or anyone else's personal details in the free-text boxes unless it's necessary for your enquiry.

How we use it, and our legal basis

We use your information only to deal with your enquiry and to provide our services:

• To prepare and email your personalised quote, and to answer your questions - this is in our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, and is a step towards entering into a contract with you.
• To arrange and manage your storage hire if you go ahead - this is necessary for the performance of a contract with you.
• To keep records we are required to keep, for example for accounting and tax - this is to meet our legal obligations.
• To send you news, tips and offers by email - only if you tick the opt-in box when requesting a quote. This is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

You can unsubscribe from our marketing emails at any time using the link in every message, or by emailing us - and we'll stop straight away. We do not sell or share your information for anyone else's marketing.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We use a small number of trusted service providers who process information on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions:

• Netlify - hosts our website and processes the forms you submit.
• Our email delivery provider (Mailgun or Resend) - delivers the emails our website sends (your quote, and our replies).
• MailerLite - manages our email newsletter and sends our marketing emails, but only to people who have opted in.
• Stripe - processes card payments when you book online. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen or stored by our website.

These providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as the UK's International Data Transfer arrangements or equivalent contractual protections) are in place. We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law.

Cookies

Our website does not set any advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and there is no need for a cookie consent banner. The interactive map on our Locations page loads map images from Google Maps so it can display; this may involve your browser making a request to that service to fetch the map tiles.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry doesn't lead to a hire, we keep the details only as long as needed to deal with it, and routinely no longer than 12 months. If you become a customer, we keep your information for the duration of your hire and for as long afterwards as we're required to for legal, accounting and tax purposes (generally up to six years). We then delete or securely destroy it.

How we protect it

Your form submissions are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information secure and limit access to it to those who need it to help you.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it if it's wrong, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to have it provided in a portable format where applicable. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, so please check back occasionally.
